Classroom expectations


Essential outcomes:
  1. Students will follow & execute the convergence storytelling process.
  2. Students will implement the six-shot system
  3. Students will conduct formal and informal interviews
  4. Students will write news stories (video and written)
  5. Students will edit news packages
  6. Students will manage projects
  7. Students will tell compelling and complete stories
  8. Students will write and perform voice-overs and stand-ups
  9. Students will produce an episodes of ONW...NOW! & GameDay: Northwest


Expectations:


I. Outside hours:
You are expected to log at least 20 hours per quarter of outside the school day filming/work. Maintain your own log, and be prepared to discuss it during performance reviews.


Producing live sporting events will count towards your hours. Each SID student will be expected to produce two football and three basketball games. Football games: 2.5 hours. Basketball doubleheaders: 3 hours.


II. Weekly news packages:
You are expected to produce ONE video/written story each week. You must follow the entire CJ storytelling process. Only the best news packages will appear on ONW...NOW! or GameDay: Northwest. You must upload your story to YouTube, create a blog post on the Raven Daily and post a story for the website.


III. Classroom folder:
All of the written work you do (questions, scripts, written stories) will be placed in your classroom folder. You will be expected to prepare a presentation with these artifacts during your performance review.

IV. Professional blog:
Your professional blog is a place to reflect, learn and explore throughout the year. You must post FOUR times a quarter to your blog, one of each of the four types of blog posts.
